Wizerunek teściowej − na przykładzie „Dowcipów o teściowej”

The purpose of a work titled Image of mother-in-law − by the example of „Dowcipy o teściowej” is a reconstruction of textual image of an eponymous character in Polish jokes. Chosen conceptions concerning lingual and textual view of world along with stereotypes on ground of linguistics were depicted in the following diploma work. Moreover, the manner of comprehension of jokes was analysed and the results of vocabulary query regarding the lexeme of mother-in-law were presented. Subsequently, the author focused on analysis of jokes derived from „Dowcipy o teściowej” collection published by SUPERPRESS and undertook an attempt to reconstruct the image of mother-in-law in terms of visual appearance, personality traits, performed social functions, places where she stays, events, activities which she performs and how she is treated and assessed by other subjects in mentioned jokes. Attitude of mother-in-law to son-in-law was also analysed. The mentioned diploma work shows similarities and differences between textual image of mother-in-law and occurring in culture stereotypical judgement about her.

Celem rozprawy Wizerunek teściowej − na przykładzie „Dowcipów o teściowej” jest rekonstrukcja tekstowego obrazu tytułowej bohaterki w żartach polskich. W pracy przedstawiono wybrane koncepcje językowego i tekstowego obrazu świata oraz stereotypów na gruncie lingwistyki. Ponadto przeanalizowano sposoby rozumienia dowcipu oraz zaprezentowano wyniki kwerendy słownikowej, dotyczącej leksemu teściowa. W kolejnej części pracy skupiono się na analizie żartów pochodzących ze zbioru Dowcipy o teściowej wydawnictwa SUPERPRESS i podjęto próbę rekonstrukcji wizerunku tytułowej bohaterki pod kątem wyglądu zewnętrznego, cech charakteru, pełnionych funkcji społecznych, miejsc, w których przebywa, zdarzeń, czynności, które podejmuje, oraz traktowania i wartościowania przez inne podmioty występujące w dowcipach. Przeanalizowano również stosunek teściowej do zięcia. Praca ukazuje podobieństwa i różnice między tekstowym obrazem teściowej a funkcjonującym w kulturze stereotypowym sądem o niej.
