City management and the impact of its development on the example of Rzeszow and Krakow. Comparative analysis

This thesis is entitled: City management and its development on the example of Rzeszów and Krakow.This thesis raises the problems of city management and how it affects the development of a given city. The discussed cities, ie Rzeszów and Kraków, have been presented in various aspects. The first of them was to present the current image of individual cities. This chapter includes information about the city's brand and the method of its promotion on the national and international arena. The next part of the thesis contains information about the "smart city" concept. This chapter shows us the similarities and differences between the two cities when it comes to its development in line with the "smart city" concept. In addition, this chapter presents the proceeds from the European Union, ie European Funds. This part of the thesis presents the issue of subsidiarity of the European Union. An important fact resulting from this is that, thanks to the support and financial assistance from European Funds, cities have the opportunity to develop comprehensively.The last aspect discussed in this thesis is a chapter presenting the opinions of residents about the quality of life in a given city. Opinions concerned various aspects of city life. Respondents were people who lived in the given city and visitors.The research methods used for this thesis were mainly based on articles, reports and elaborated descriptions of cities published in monographs and online.

Niniejsza praca nosi tytuł : Zarządzanie miastem i wpływ na jego rozwój na przykładzie Rzeszowa i Krakowa. Praca ta porusza problematykę zarządzania miastem i tego jaki ono ma wpływ na rozwój danego miasta. Omawiane miasta czyli Rzeszów i Kraków przedstawione zostały w różnych aspektach. Pierwszym z nich było przedstawienie aktualnego wizerunku poszczególnych miast. W rozdziale tym znalazły się informacje na temat marki miasta i sposobu jego promocji na arenie krajowej i międzynarodowej. W kolejnej części pracy zawarte zostały informacje na temat koncepcji „smart city”. Rozdział ten ukazuje nam podobieństwa i różnice między dwoma miastami jeśli chodzi o jego rozwój zgodnie z ideą „ smart city”. Ponadto w rozdziale tym ukazane zostały wpływy pochodzące z Unii Europejskiej czyli Fundusze Europejskie. W tej części pracy ukazana jest kwestia subsydiarności Unii Europejskiej. Istotnym faktem wynikającym z tego jest to że , dzięki wsparciu i pomocy finansowej z Funduszy Europejskich miasta mają okazję się kompleksowo rozwijać. Ostatnim aspektem poruszanym w niniejszej pracy jest rozdział prezentujący opinie mieszkańców na temat jakości życia w danym mieście. Opinie dotyczyły różnych aspektów życia w mieście. Respondentami były osoby rodowicie zamieszkujące dane miasto oraz osoby przyjezdne. Wykorzystane do tej pracy metody badawcze w głównej mierze opierały się na artykułach, raportach oraz opracowanych opisach miast zamieszczonych w monografiach i online.
