Quantitative assessment of neutrophil infiltration in the skin of mice with psoriasis-like lesions

Psoriasis is chronic skin disease that does not pose a direct threat to the patent’s life, but significantly reduces its quality. Symptoms of this disease are well-demarcated, symmetrical red plaques covered with silvery scales, appearing on the skin. The key cells and mediators involved in the mechanism of psoriasis have been identified, but research on better under standing and effective treatment is still ongoing. Progress in research of this disease is possible thanks to mouse model of psoriasis. Analysis of kinetics inflammatory infiltration formation is important to evaluate the progress of changes In the model of this disease. In reference to the research hypothesis that the progression of inflammation depends on the presence of neutrophils, the aim of the study was to investigate their inflammation into the skin in the mouse model of psoriasis.

Łuszczyca jest to przewlekła choroba skóry, która nie stanowi bezpośredniego zagrożenia dla życia chorego, jednak znacznie obniża jego jakość. Objawami tej choroby są pojawiające się na skórze wyraźnie odgraniczone, symetryczne, czerwone blaszki, pokryte srebrnymi łuskami. Poznano kluczowe komórki oraz mediatory biorące udział w mechanizmie łuszczycy, jednak badania nad lepszym zrozumieniem i efektywnym leczeniem trwają do dziś. Postęp badań dotyczących tej choroby jest możliwy dzięki mysiemu modelowi łuszczycy. Analiza kinetyki tworzenia nacieku zapalnego jest istotna dla oceny postępu zmian w modelu tej choroby.
