Le motif de l’hypocrisie dans La Chute d’Albert Camus (1956)

La thèse est centrée sur le motif de l'hypocrisie dans "La Chute" d'Albert Camus. Ce thème est analysé principalement du point de vue du protagoniste du roman, Jean Baptiste Clamence. L'œuvre discute de sa conduite, des décisions qu'il prend et de la façon dont il perçoit sa propre conscience. Le motif du christianisme, le rire, en tant que voix persécutrice de la conscience et les masques que Clamence portait pour tromper tout le monde autour de lui et lui-même, sont présentés dans le travail à plusieurs niveaux. De l'hypocrisie omniprésente présentée dans l'œuvre émerge une image sombre de l'homme contemporain. Le personnage principal est un miroir dans lequel le lecteur peut facilement trouver son propre reflet.

The thesis is focused on the motif of hypocrisy in Albert Camus' "The Fall”. This theme is analyzed mainly from the point of view of the novel's protagonist, Jean Baptiste Clamence. The work discusses his conduct, the decisions he makes and the way he perceives his own conscience. The motif of Christianity, laughter, as a persecuting voice of conscience and the masks that Clamence wore in order to deceive everyone around him and himself, are presented in the work on many levels. From the ubiquitous hypocrisy presented in the work emerges a gloomy image of the contemporary man. The main character is a mirror in which the reader can easily find his own reflection.

Praca przedstawia motyw hipokryzji w utworze „Upadek” Alberta Camusa. Temat ten analizowany jest głównie przez pryzmat bohatera powieści Jeana Baptiste’a Clamence’a. W pracy omówiono jego postępowanie, decyzje, jakie podejmuje oraz sposób postrzegania własnego sumienia. Przedstawiono przejawiające się w utworze na wielu płaszczyznach motyw chrześcijaństwa, śmiech, jako prześladujący głos sumienia oraz maski przybierane przez Clamence’a w celu oszukania wszystkich wokół i siebie samego. Z wszechobecnej hipokryzji ukazanej w utworze wyłania się ponury obraz współczesnego człowieka. Główny bohater jest bowiem lustrem, w którym czytelnik bez trudu będzie mógł odnaleźć własne odbicie.
