Salvador Dalí, narrator and hero of "Diary of a Genius"

The object of this BA thesis is the analysis of the relations between the narrator and the hero of the "Diary of a Genius", one of the books written by Salvador Dalí. The thesis is composed of three chapters, with the first being dedicated to diary as a literary genre. A brief historical background and characteristics of a diary are the main subject of this chapter. The second one presents the form, the subject matter and the style of the "Diary of a Genius". The last one concerns surrealism, which heavily influenced the artistic activity of Dalí and which is present in the diary of the Catalan painter.

L’objet de ce mémoire est l’analyse des relations entre le narrateur et le personnage du Journal d’un génie, l’un des livres écrit par Salvador Dalí. Le mémoire se divise en trois chapitres dont le premier se concentre sur le journal en tant que genre littéraire. Le court rappel historique est les caractéristiques du journal constituent le sujet principal de ce chapitre. Le deuxième présente la forme, la thématique et le style du Journal d’un génie. Le dernier concerne le surréalisme qui a fortement influencé l’activité artistique de Dalí, et dont la présence est évidente dans le journal du peintre catalan.

Przedmiotem pracy licencjackiej jest analiza relacji pomiędzy narratorem a bohaterem „Dziennika geniusza”, jednej z książek napisanej przez Salvadora Dalego. Dzieli się ona na trzy rozdziały, z których pierwszy został poświęcony dziennikowi jako gatunkowi literackiemu. Krótki opis historyczny oraz cechy charakterystyczne dziennika są głównym tematem tego rozdziału. Rozdział drugi przedstawia formę, tematykę oraz styl „Dziennika geniusza”. Ostatni dotyczy surrealizmu, który silnie wpłynął na działalność artystyczną Dalego i którego obecność jest widoczna w dzienniku katalońskiego malarza.
