Differences between traditional and modern shadow theater based on Teatr Figur Kraków and wayang kulit

The thesis contains characteristic and description of the activities taken by the Teatr Figur Kraków and also analysis of three spectacles of that theater. Contemporary performances and their elements are compare with the traditional shadow theater model. Showing differences and similarities between them allows us to see the novelity of the Teatr Figur Kraków and the opposition of modern performances to the shadow theater canon shaped for centuries, which is wayang kulit.

Praca zawiera charakterystykę i opis działań Teatru Figur Kraków oraz analizę trzech spektakli tegoż teatru. Współczesne przedstawienia i ich elementy zestawione zostają z tradycyjnym modelem teatru cieni. Ukazanie między nimi różnic i podobieństw pozwala dostrzec nowatorskość Teatru Figur oraz opozycję teraźniejszych przedstawień wobec ukształtowanego od wieków kanonu teatru cieni jakim jest wayang kulit.
