The master's thesis entitled "Relations of the United States with the Republic of Korea and Democratic People's Republic of Korea after 1989 describes an extremely dynamic region which is the Korean Peninsula from the perspective of the United States after the end of the Cold War. Despite changes in the international environment, divisions in this region of the world are still good visible, and in the conflict except the US, all local players are involved. The author will try to answer the question: is it possible to end the crisis on the Korean Peninsula and what options are most likely to counteract the escalation of hostile actions.
