The image of Krakow towards immigrants from Ukraine - perception and valorisation of the city space based on individual interviews

This work focuses on the problem of perception and valorisation of the city space and aims to create a reliable description of the image of the city of Krakow by its users, who are Ukrainian citizens currently living in the city. The focus was on this group's opinion, due to the fact that it is this category of people who quite often choose Krakow as the direction of migration. An interesting problem is also the way in which immigrants experience and confront the public space in which they live. The research also aims to indicate the life plans of the people surveyed and whether they intend to stay in the city permanently. The collected reflections will aim to show why the respondents decided to come to Krakow and can be used as a basis for creating urban policies.

Niniejsza praca koncentruje się na problemie postrzegania i waloryzacji przestrzeni miasta i ma na celu stworzenie rzetelnego opisu obrazu miasta Krakowa przez jego użytkowników, jakimi są obywatele Ukrainy, mieszkający obecnie na terytorium miasta. Skupiono się na opinii tej właśnie grupy, z uwagi na fakt iż to właśnie ta kategoria osób dość często obiera sobie Kraków jako kierunek migracji. Interesującym problemem jest także sposób doświadczania i konfrontowania się imigrantów z przestrzenią publiczną, w której przyszło im mieszkać. Badania mają na celu również wskazanie planów życiowych badanych osób, w kontekście dalszego zamieszkiwania w mieście. Zgromadzone refleksje będą miały na celu uwidocznianie dlaczego badani zdecydowali się przyjechać akurat do Krakowa i mogą posłużyć jako baza dla tworzenia polityk miejskich.
