The pro-social role of cultural centers on the example of the functioning of selected institutions in the city of Krakow

Przedmiotem badań była prospołeczna rola domów kultury. Celem pracy dyplomowej było przedstawienie różnych form działalności domów kultury oraz zbadanie ich funkcji i różnic. Metodami badawczymi zastosowanymi w pracy była analiza danych zastanych oraz analiza porównawcza dwóch odmiennych przykładów placówek funkcjonujących w Krakowie. Badaniu poddanych zostało pięć elementy: struktura organizacyjna, finansowanie działalności, struktura zatrudnienia, proponowane usługi oraz docelowi beneficjenci. Wyniki badania pokazały, że domy kultury różnią się od siebie a ich działalność jest odmienna. Pomimo różnic obie placówki w większym lub mniejszym stopniu charakteryzują się nastawieniem prospołecznym.

The subject of the study was the pro-social role of community centers. The aim of this paper was to present various forms of activity of cultural centers and to study their functions and differences. The research methods used in the thesis were desk research and a comparative analysis of two different examples of facilities operating in Krakow. Five elements were examined: organizational structure, financing of activities, employment structure, proposed services and target beneficiaries. The results of the study showed that community centers are different and their activities are distinct. Despite the differences, both institutions are more or less characterized by a pro-social attitude.
