The role of the United States of America in the fight against terrorism in the Middle East during the presidency of George W. Bush

United States of America become the biggest global power after the II World War. To maintain this situation Americans had to gain influence in different parts of the world. Particular importance was given to the region of the Middle East, especially countries of Israel, Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Growth in terrorism and 11th September 2001 attacks led to beggining of new period in American foreign policy. President George W. Bush declared "War on Terror" and in the following years he was fulfilling assuptions of "Bush Doctrine". Over the time, a lot of allegations arised, that he lied not only to public opinion but also to world leaders in term of Iraq war. It all also put into questions US good will in relation to Iraq and its citizens.

Stany Zjednoczone Ameryki po II wojnie światowej stały się największym światowym mocarstwem. By utrzymać ten stan rzeczy, Amerykanie musieli zdobyć wpływy w wielu miejscach świata. Szczególne znaczenie miał Bliski Wschód i państwa takie jak Izrael, Arabia Saudyjska i Irak. Rozwój terroryzmu i zamachy z 11 września 2001 roku rozpoczęły nowy etap amerykańskiej polityki zagranicznej. Prezydent George W. Bush ogłosił "wojnę z terroryzmem" i przez kolejne lata swojej prezydentury skrupulatnie wypełniał założenia "Doktryny Busha". Z czasem zaczęło pojawiać się wobec niego wiele zarzutów okłamywania opinii publicznej i światowych przywódców w kwestii wojny w Iraku, a dobra wola Stanów Zjednoczonych Ameryki w stosunku do Iraku i jego obywateli została poddana w wątpliwość.
