Główny nacisk został położony na zagadnienia, które autor uznaje za kluczowe dla powstania niepodległego państwa fińskiego po zakończeniu I wojny światowej. The following study, "Relations between The Russian Provisional Government and Finland, diplomatic mission of C. G. E. Mannerheim and the Finnish question during The Paris Peace Conference", covers the subject of Finnish road to independence. This thesis focuses on factors that the author believes were essential for the creation of an independent Finland following the First World War. Research was carried out based official American documents, Russian Provisional Government documents and memoirs of Carl Gustav Emil Mannerheim. Thorough study of this topic allows an analysis of the process of independence movements following World War I, interwar diplomacy, the creation of state structures and post-Versailles international order.This study includes concerns the following issues: relations between Finland and the Russian Provisional Government, Carl Gustav Mannerheim's diplomatic mission and the Finnish question during the negotiations that followed the end of World War I. The appendix also includes an analysis of treaty of Tartu, which defined Finnish eastern border up to 1939.
