Tematem tej pracy licencjackiej jest kino amerykańskie lat osiemdziesiątych analizowane w kontekście przedstawianych w nim wątków związanych ze stosunkami amerykańsko-radzieckimi. Praca ta ma na celu pokazanie całościowego obrazu amerykańskiej kinematografii dekady lat osiemdziesiątych, która poruszała wątki związane z relacjami na linii USA-ZSRR. Łączy ona w sobie charakterystykę popularnych i powtarzających się motywów w filmach należących do tej kategorii, z wyjaśnieniem ich w kontekście historycznym, jak i rzeczywistości, w jakiej były one tworzone. Większość treści pracy poświęcono kwestiom związanym z prezydenturą Ronalda Reagana i napięciami zimnej wojny. Pokazuje ona, jak filmowe wizje się ze sobą pokrywały lub kolidowały oraz to, jak się zmieniły na przestrzeni dekady. Praca ta zawiera również opisy wpływu, jakie poszczególne filmy miały na Amerykanów oraz tego, jak zostały przez nich odebrane. W badaniach wykorzystano metodę analizy literatury oraz dzieł filmowych wpisujących się w omawianą kategorię.

The subject of this BA thesis is American cinema of the eighties, analysed in the context of the motifs presented in it that are related to US-Soviet relations. This thesis aims to show a complete picture of American cinematography of the eighties, which touched on the motifs related to relations on the US-USSR line. It combines the characterisation of popular and recurring themes in films in this category, with explaining them in the historical context and the reality in which they were created. Most of the content of the thesis was devoted to issues related to the presidency of Ronald Reagan and the tensions of the Cold War. It shows how film visions overlapped or collided witch each other, and how they have changed over the decade. This work also contains descriptions of the impact that individual films had on Americans and of the way that they have received them. The researcher used the methods of analysing literature, and film works that fall into the category that is discussed.
