Dialogic and intertextual aspects of Ebba Witt-Brattströms novel "Love/War".

Celem niniejszej pracy jest interpretacja "Miłosnej wojny stulecia", powieści punktowej autorstwa Ebby Witt-Brattström, opisującej konflikt małżeński dwójki bohaterów. W mojej analizie zbadane zostały rola dialogu oraz intertekstualne połączenia obecne w utworze z wykorzystaniem koncepcje literaturoznawcze Michaiła Bachtina i Julii Kristevej. Praca zajmuje się przede wszystkim międzytekstowymi powiązaniami Miłosnej wojny stulecia z "Tańcem śmierci" Augusta Strindberga oraz "Sagą o miłości stulecia" Märty Tikkanen, lecz także mniej eksplicytne odwołania do innych dzieł literatury.Pracę rozpoczyna analiza teoretyczna najważniejszych pojęć z zakresu literaturoznawcza związanych z intertekstualnością. Następnie przechodzi ona do opisu kompozycji powieści oraz jej powiązań z innymi tekstami. Na podstawie badania wyciągnąć można wniosek, iż teorie Bachtina i Kristevej stanowią ważny element, bez którego interpretacja "Miłosnej wojny stulecia nie byłaby kompletna.

The aim of this thesis was to interpret the Swedish novel "Love/War" written by Ebba Witt-Brattström. In my analysis I investigated the function of dialogue and the intertextual connections observed in the book, taking into account literary concepts created by Mikhail Bakhtin and Julia Kristeva. In the analytical process I focused primarily on the links between "Love/War", "The Dance of Death" by August Strindberg and "The Love Story of the Century" by Märta Tikkanen. Moreover, I described the novel’s less explicit relations with other texts. The study begins with a theoretical analysis of the most important literary concepts regarding intertextuality. Then it presents a description of the novel’s composition and its connections with the other texts. The research leads to the conclusion that Bakhtin and Kristeva’s theories are crucial elements for the interpretation of "Love/War" and it wouldn’t be complete without them.
