New golden age of Hungarian cinema? The growth and success of the latest Hungarian cinema based on an analysis of selected films from 2010-20.

Over the last few years, Hungarian cinema has become very successful. Every year, the country’s productions receive world’s most significant movie awards. Therefore, it is not surprising that the new golden age of Hungarian cinema is being talked about more and more often. The purpose of this paper is to outline the possible reasons for these recent successes. Based on an overview of the history of Hungarian cinema and an analysis of selected films from recent years, the latest achievements and changes in Hungarian cinematography were discussed. 20 films from the last 10 years were selected for analysis and three main factors were highlighted: themes, cinematography and music.

Filmy węgierskie w ciągu ostatnich lat zaczęły odnosić coraz większe sukcesy. Śledząc najnowsze produkcje, można zauważyć, iż corocznie wygrywają najważniejsze nagrody filmowe na świecie. Nie jest więc zaskoczeniem, że coraz częściej mówi się o nowej złotej erze węgierskiego kina. Celem pracy jest nakreślenie, co może być powodem tych, trwających od niedawna sukcesów. Na podstawie historii filmu na Węgrzech i analizy wybranych filmów z ostatnich lat przybliżono najnowsze dokonania i zmiany w węgierskiej kinematografii. Do analizy wybrano 20 filmów z ostatnich 10 lat i zwrócono uwagę na 3 podstawowe czynniki: tematykę, zdjęcia i muzykę.
