Hospitals and health service in Galicia in the years 1867-1918

Praca skupia się rozwoju szpitalnictwa i służby zdrowia w Galicji w latach 1867-1918. Celem pracy jest odpowiedź na pytania: jak rozwinęła się służba szpitalna na terenie Galicji od momentu przyjęcia tzw. konstytucji grudniowej w 1867 i wprowadzenia rozwiązań autonomicznych w tym kraju koronnym; jak w ciągu omawianego okresu czasu wyglądała kwestia prawno-administracyjna galicyjskiej służby zdrowia; czy służba sanitarna w armii austro-węgierskiej była przygotowana na wybuch wojny oraz idące za tym wyzwania wojenne i jak sobie z tym poradziła.

This study focuses on the development of hospital management and health service in Galicia in the years 1867-1918. The aim of this study is to answer the questions: how has the hospital service developed in Galicia since the adoption of the December constitution in 1867 and the implementation of autonomous solutions in the crown land; what was the legal and administrative issue of the Galician health service during this period; was the sanitary service in the Austro-Hungarian army prepared for the outbreak of the I World War and the war challenges that followed, and how they coped with it.
