The essay consists in presenting some recollections connected with the "Olympic Games in Polish Language in Literature" (1990, the first place winner). First of all, the author describes her teachers and tutors at school and at the University. Moreover, she reflects on the meaning of the competition in her professional life. Further, the question of educational significance of the Olympic Games in Polish Language in Literature for a humanist. The text is completed by some remarks on the author's interests in literature and on beginnings of her academic career.
