From musicality to polyphony : the poetic work of Brunon Jasieński
This article deals with the poetry of Brunon Jasieński, a leading Polish futurist, and more specifically with the sound structure of his poems, ie. the dimension ‘Musicality I’ according to Andrzej Hejmej’s typology. An analysis of the prosodic element of Jasieński’s language suggests that his experiments paved the way for the 20th-century shift of the euphonic paradigm. The article also tries to describe Jasieński’s most outré futuristic ideas with the help of a revised concept of the polyphony of literature (devised by the author, it broadens the Bakhtinian understanding of the term).
