The Armenian genocide under the rule of young turks and its influence on Armenian-Turkish relations

The crimes against Armenians in 1915-1916 are called "the first genocide of the 20th century". Their scale and course reached unimaginable dimensions, which resulted in the liquidation of the minority inhabiting the territories of the Ottoman Empire. The policy of negating these events, pursued by successive governments, has had a negative effect on current Armenian-Turkish relations. The crimes planned and carried out by members of Young Turks still affect the relations between close neighbors. Despite the hundred years that have passed since those events, the Turkish government does not want to recognize them as genocide. The aim of this work is to present the historical aspects that led to the events of the First World War and the consequences felt in relations between Turkey and Armenia

Zbrodnie popełnione na Ormianach w latach 1915-1916 nazywane są „pierwszym ludobójstwem XX wieku”. Ich skala i przebieg osiągnęły niewyobrażalne rozmiary, czego konsekwencją była likwidacja mniejszości, zamieszkującej tereny imperium osmańskiego. Polityka negacji tych wydarzeń, prowadzona przez kolejne rządy negatywnie wpływa na aktualne relacje armeńsko-tureckie. Zbrodnie zaplanowane i przeprowadzone przez członków młodoturków, w dalszym ciągu rzutują na stosunki pomiędzy bliskimi sąsiadami. Pomimo stu lat, jakie minęły od tamtych wydarzeń, rząd turecki nie chce uznać ich za ludobójstwo. Celem pracy jest przedstawienie aspektów historycznych, które w konsekwencji doprowadziły do wydarzeń z czasów I wojny świtowej oraz i skutków odczuwalnych w relacjach Turcji z Armenią.
