A theatrical catalyst for liberation. A study on Forum Theatre method and the usage of it in Poland

Celem niniejszej pracy jest scharakteryzowanie metody Teatru Forum i jej wykorzystania na gruncie polskim. Prezentowana praca składa się z trzech części: części teoretycznej, części metodologicznej oraz części empirycznej. W części teoretycznej zawarte zostały rozdziały definiujące podstawowe pojęcia związane z pedagogiką emancypacyjną, charakteryzujące Pedagogikę Uciśnionych oraz Teatr Forum. Część metodologiczna poświęcona jest określeniu przedmiotu badań, problemów badawczych oraz opisowi wykorzystanej metody. Natomiast część empiryczna zawiera wyniki badań w postaci trzech studiów przypadków oraz ich porównania.

The paper aims at characterising the Forum Theatre method and its use in Poland. The paper consists of three main parts: exploration of the theory, description of the methodology, and study of the empirical context. The theoretical part includes several chapters defining the most valid and fundamental terms used in the field of emancipation pedagogy, characterising Pedagogy of the Oppressed and Forum Theatre. The methodology section looks into the subject of the study, research issues and the methods used throughout. The empirical part, however, presents the research results in a form of three case studies and their comparison.
