Od Marko Polo do Assasinss Creed. Ewolucja obrazu asasynów w kulturze zachodniej

The subject of this thesis is the process of evolution of perception of the Nizari sect in Western culture. Author ststrives to compare the stereotypes and opinions present in the Middle Ages and expressed in Marco Polo's work to the current perception of Assassins, which is expressed, among others, in the Assasin's Creed video game. The aim of the study is to identify the similarities and differences in the opinion of Europeans about Assassins in different historical frames and to explain the reasons of processes shaping the views of Europeans about the Nizari sect.

Tematem niniejszej pracy jest proces ewolucji percepcji sekty nizaryckiej w kulturze zachodniej. Autor porównuje zespół stereotypów i opinii obecnych w średniowieczu i wyrażanych w dziele Marko Polo do obecnej percepcji asasynów, która wyraża się między innymi w grze komputerowej Assasin's Creed. Celem pracy jest wskazanie podobieństw i różnic w opinii Europejczyków na temat asasynów w różnych epokach historycznych oraz wyjaśnienie przyczyn procesów kształtujących poglądy Europejczyków na temat sekty nizaryckiej.
