The first chapter concerns the concept and directions of development of management in the public sector. The second chapter deals with the importance and place of control in public management. The third chapter concerns the role of audit in the internal control system in public entities on the example of independent public health care institutions. The fourth chapter concerns the analysis of the role of audit in the internal control system on the example of the Małopolska public health care institution.
