Tematem niniejszej pracy jest odbudowa zamku legnickiego, która nastąpiła po pożarze w 1711 roku. Impulsem do powstania pracy było odnalezienie w Archiwum Państwowym we Wrocławiu nieznanych wcześniej materiałów archiwalnych dokumentujących rekonstrukcję wspomnianego zamku. Jest to nieznane dzieło Jacoba Scheerhofera, austriackiego budowniczego działającego w Legnicy. Praca składa się ze wstępu, czterech rozdziałów, podsumowania, bibliografii oraz wykazu ilustracji.We wstępie zostały omówione wybrane źródła, literatura przedmiotu oraz przyjęta struktura i cele pracy.W rozdziale pierwszym zostały przedstawione dzieje przemian historyczno-artystycznych zamku legnickiego od początku XIII do początku XVIII w.Rozdział drugi stanowi omówienie odnalezionych źródeł archiwalnych, które dostarczają szczegółowych wiadomości na temat przebiegu odbudowy zamku po pożarze w 1711 roku.W rozdziale trzecim została zaprezentowana próba rekonstrukcji ukształtowania odbudowanego zamku legnickiego po pożarze w oparciu o informacje zaczerpnięte z archiwaliów, źródeł ikonograficznych i zachowanych elementów architektury.Rozdział czwarty zawiera analizę zamku legnickiego na tle architektury "urzędniczej" Monarchii Habsburgów, architektury powstającej na terenie Legnicy, księstwa legnickiego i okolic, a także twórczości Jacoba Scheerhofera.Wszystkie najistotniejsze hipotezy i wnioski zostały zebrane i powtórzone w podsumowaniu pracy.

The subject of the thesis is the reconstruction of the castle in Legnica after the fire in 1711. It has been inspired by the discovery of previously unknown archival materials documenting the reconstruction of the castle in the State Archive in Wrocław. It is an unknown work of Jacob Scheerhofer, an Austrian architect working in Legnica.The work consists of an introduction, four chapters, a summary, a bibliography and a list of illustrations.In the introduction, selected sources, literature on the subject as well as the structure and goals of the work were discussed.The first chapter presents the history of the architectural methamorphoses of the castle in Legnica from the beginning of the 13th to the beginning of the 18th century.The second chapter is an examination of the found archival sources, which provide detailed information on the course of the reconstruction of the castle after the fire in 1711.The third chapter presents an attempt to reconstruct the shape of the reconstructed castle in Legnica after the fire, based on information taken from archives, iconographic sources and preserved elements of architecture.Chapter four contains an analysis of the Legnica castle against the background of the "office" architecture of the Habsburg Monarchy, architecture emerging in Legnica, the Duchy of Legnica and the surrounding territories, as well as the works of Jacob Scheerhofer.All the most important hypotheses and conclusions were collected and repeated in the summary of the work.
