Neglected science of beauty? : dictionary of "suspicious" terms - an open project

Artykuł dotyczy roli kształcenia estetycznego na lekcjach języka polskiego w szkole średniej. Punkt wyjścia stanowią rozważania o współczesnych przemianach w pojmowaniu piękna oraz o najnowszych koncepcjach estetycznych (Shusterman, Welsch). Wiodą one do wniosku, że potrzebne jest wprowadzenie na szerszą skalę do programów nauczania języka polskiego zagadnień estetycznych. W tym celu konieczne jest także pokazanie uczniom historycznej zmienności ważnych zjawisk oraz kategorii dotyczących sztuki i jej recepcji.

The article concerns the role of esthetic education during the Polish lesson in high school. The starting point are the deliberations about the contemporary transformations of the perceptions of beauty and about the most recent esthetic concepts (Shusterman, Welsch). They lead to the conclusion that esthetic issues need to be introduced on a larger scale into the Polish language curricula. This also requires acquainting the students with the historical volatility of significant events and categories concerning art and its perception.
