Celem niniejszego artykułu jest próba ukazania sposobu, w jaki głowni bohaterowie serialu "Seria niefortunnych zdarzeń" Netflixa wykorzystują czarny humor, aby poradzić sobie z tragiczną sytuacją. Wskazanie na samoświadomą postawę wybranych bohaterów, takich jak sieroty Baudelaire oraz Hrabia Olaf, oraz ich wiedzę związaną z fikcyjnością świata przedstawionego pozwoli ujawnić mechanizm, w jaki humor staje się jedynym możliwym sposobem na przetrwanie w świecie absurdu. Artykuł proponuje również interpretację serialu z perspektywy komedii entropii, prezentującej rozpad systemów i wartości bohaterów oraz akceptację stanu chaosu.

The aim of the article is to present how the main characters of the Netflix TV show "A Series of Unfortunate Events" use black humor to cope with their tragic situation. Pointing to self-conscious attitude of selected characters, such as Baudelaire orphans and Count Olaf, and their knowledge related to the fictionality of the depicted world, shows how dark humor becomes the only possible way to survive in the world of absurdity. The article also proposes the interpretation of the series form the perspective of the comedy of entropy, showing the disintegration of systems, loss of character's values, and above all, the acceptance of disorder.
