Po co nam globalna edukacja?

The main goal of the article is an attempt to answer the very question: for what do we need global education? In order to answer that question several crucial issues have been discussed such as: international context and genesis of global education in Europe and worldwide, europocentric vision of the world which dominates nowadays, especially in a European context, perception of formal education as a medicine for all evil in the world and last, but not least, monetarization of all spheres of life in the name of the so-called progres. The main thesis of the article is: the major goal of global education is to help to build a sustainable future in all spheres of life. In Polish context global education helps to face unavoidable global challenges that we all share.

Artykuł ma na celu próbę udzielenia odpowiedzi na pytanie po co nam globalna edukacja? Chodzi zwłaszcza w system edukacji formalnej w Polsce. A by na to pytanie odpowiedzieć, przedstawiono kontekst powstania i genezę edukacji globalnej w Europie i na świecie, europocentryczną wizję świata jaka aktualnie nadal dominuje w Europie, traktowanie formalnej edukacji jako panaceum na bolączki świata, postępująca współcześnie monetaryzację wszystkiego w imię tzw. postępu. Centralną tezą artykułu jest stwierdzenie, że najważniejszym zadaniem edukacji globalnej jest budowanie zrównoważonej przyszłości we wszystkich wymiarach życia. W polskim kontekście edukacja globalna pozawala stawić czoła nieuchronnym globalnym wyzwaniom, które są po prostu naszymi wyzwaniami.
