Physico-geographical regionalization of Ceylon Island

W pracy przedstawiono podział regionalny do poziomu rangi mezoregionu obszaru wyspy Cejlon, dokonany w systemie dziesiętnym, na bazie istniejącego podziału regionalnego całej Azji. Regiony wyróżniono przy zastosowaniu metody czynników przewodnich, analizy zdjęć satelitarnych oraz obserwacji terenowych. Na wyspie zostały wydzielone 2 podprowincje fizycznogeograficzne, zawierające 5 makroregionów i w ich obrębie 46 mezoregionów.

The paper presents the physico-geographical regionalization of Ceylon Island made in a decinal system against a background of valid regions division in the Asia. The method applied for the regionalization was "the index factor method" with a supplementary use for the following methods: the satellite images analysis and the field observations. Inside the country limits were singled out two physico-geographical sub-provinces, that inlcude, in total, 5 macroregions and 46 mesoregions.
