Dyskurs o narkomanii w prasie liberalnej i konserwatywnej- ,,redukcja szkód’’ albo ,,duchowe zniewolenie"Celem niniejszej pracy dyplomowej była analiza porównawcza dyskursu liberalnego i konserwatywnego w publikacjach dotyczących problemu narkomanii. Analiza objęła publikacje za stycznia 2013 roku, dotyczące samobójczej śmierci szesnastolatka. Praca składa się z trzech części - w pierwszej z nich, na podstawie literatury podmiotu zdefiniowane zostały pojęcia - liberalizm i konserwatyzm - oraz został określony kontekst, w jakim będą one wykorzystywane. W drugiej części opisano stan prawny i aktualną wiedzę naukowa na temat narkotyków, zdefiniowane zostały również związane z nimi pojęcia. Trzecia część pracy stanowi analizę dyskursu - zanalizowane zostały trzy teksty wpisujące się w dyskurs konserwatywny oraz trzy teksty posiadające cechy dyskursu liberalnego.Hipoteza pracy zakładała, że dyskurs konserwatywny, dotyczący narkomanii, różni się znacząco od dyskursu liberalnego - odnosi się negatywnie do legalizacji czy nawet depenalizacji używek, dyskurs liberalny natomiast postuluje złagodzenie prawa dotyczącego posiadania niewielkich ilości narkotyków, jednocześnie kładąc nacisk na rzetelną edukację na temat szkodliwości poszczególnych używek. W analizie udało się wykazać te różnice - odzwierciedlają one nastroje społeczne wokół tematu narkotyków, a więc silną polaryzację stanowisk, kontrowersje i brak otwartego dialogu.

Discourse on drug addiction in the liberal and conservative press - "harm reduction" or "spiritual enslavement"The aim of this diploma thesis was a comparative analysis of liberal and conservative discourse in publications on the problem of drug addiction. The analysis covered publications for January 2013 describing the suicide of a sixteen-year-old boy. The work consists of three parts. The first part introduces the terms - liberalism and conservatism - which are defined on the basis of the subject's literature. The second part describes the legal status and the current scientific knowledge about drugs, and also defines related concepts. The third part of the work is a discourse analysis. It’s subject consists of three publications that fit into the conservative discourse and other three that have the features of a liberal discourse.The hypothesis of the work assumes that the conservative discourse on drug addiction differs significantly from the liberal discourse. Conservative point of view has a negative attitude towards the legalization or even decriminalization of drugs, while the liberal discourse postulates the lifting of restrictions in the law connected to the possession of small amounts of drugs, simultaneously emphasizing thorough education on the harmfulness of individual drugs. The analysis comfirms these differences - they reflect the public mood around the topic of drugs, i.e. a strong polarization of positions, controversy and the lack of open dialogue.
