Analysis of the EU-Mercosur preferential trade agreement : opportunities and threats

The purpose of this article is to analyze the free trade agreement between the European Union and Mercosur. Taking into account the indicated research areas, the hypothesis of the article indicates that the discrepancies regarding the potential benefits resulting from the EUMercosur agreement may negatively condition the final ratification of the agreement by the Member States. The article was prepared using the systemic method - pointing to the importance of the agreement not only for the signatories, but for the global economy as well as institutional and legal issues, focusing on the subject scope of the agreement and the challenges in the negotiation and ratification process. Case study remains the leading technique for the implementation of the indicated issues. Taking into account the theoretical perspective of the considerations, the analysis of the EU-Mercosur agreement is presented through the prism of the neoliberal approach.
