„Byliśmy wędrowcami po prehistorycznej ziemi” – mit białego człowieka w "Jądrze ciemności" Josepha Conrada

The main objective of this thesis is the analysis and interpretation of Joseph Conrad's text "Heart of Darkness" through the category of the myth of the white man. I begin my analysis with a review of various views on the problem of myth, with particular emphasis on the ideas of Hans Blumenberg and Ernst Cassirer. In the second part of the work, I present the elements that construct the myth of the white man and interpret the "Heart of Darkness" taking into account these elements.

W niniejszej pracy podejmuję się analizy i interpretacji tekstu Josepha Conrada „Jądro Ciemności” przez kategorię mitu białego człowieka. Moją analizę rozpoczynam przeglądem różnych spojrzeń na problem mitu, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem poglądów Hansa Blumenberga oraz Ernsta Cassirera. W dalszej części pracy przedstawiam elementy, jakie konstruują mit białego człowieka oraz interpretuję „Jądro Ciemności” z uwzględnieniem tych elementów.
