Autistic stereotypes in titles of books about autism

The aim of my work is to study the stereotype of an autistic person that can be observed in titles of books about autism, using the lingustic view of the world. By analyzing the usage of vocabulary and grammar I disclose particular components of the stereotype and language phenomena contributing to its spreading. In addition I compare the way of forming the image of an autistic person in polish and english titles.

Celem mojej pracy jest zbadanie stereotypu osoby autystycznej, jaki można zaobserwować w tytułach książek na temat autyzmu, z wykorzystaniem językowego obrazu świata. Za pomocą analizy użytego słownictwa oraz form gramatycznych wykazuję poszczególne składowe stereotypu oraz zjawiska językowe towarzyszące jego rozprzestrzenianiu. Porównuję również kształtowane obrazu osoby autystycznej w tytułach polskich i angielskich.
