Miasto - księżyc - róża : Przyboś i Rymkiewicz wobec niewyrażalnego

The article compares metaliterary statements, poems and poetic prose by Julian Przyboś and Jarosław Marek Rymkiewicz - an avant-garde artist and a classicist - who argued with each other, although in their writings they were by no means as distant from each other as the polemics suggested. The most important question turns out to be the meeting points and differences in the two poets' views on the inexpressible, which are related to their views on change in art, tradition and literary form, scientism in the humanities, Marxism, or the relationship between culture and nature. In order to analyze this question, the 'urban', 'lunar' and 'rose' writings of the poets are juxtaposed, from which it follows that both considered the attitude of language to extra-linguistic reality as paradoxical. Nevertheless, they did differ, in that Przyboś appreciated especially the articulative potential of poetry, whereas Rymkiewicz focused on an inexpressible being.

W artykule tym porównane zostają wypowiedzi metaliterackie, wiersze i proza poetycka Juliana Przybosia oraz Jarosława Marka Rymkiewicza - twórcy awangardowego i klasycysty, którzy spierali się ze sobą, chociaż w praktyce pisarskiej nie byli od siebie aż tak odlegli, jak wynika z polemik. Najważniejszą kwestią okazują się zbieżności i różnice w zapatrywaniach poetów na niewyrażalne, powiązanych z ich poglądami na zmianę w sztuce, tradycję i formę literacką, na scjentyzm w humanistyce, marksizm czy relację między kulturą a naturą. Dla prześledzenia tej problematyki zestawiane są "miejskie", "księżycowe" i "różane" kreacje poetów, które odsłaniają, że obaj uznawali stosunek języka do pozajęzykowej realności za paradoksalny. Różnili się jednak, bo Przyboś cenił bardziej inwencję artykulacyjną poezji, Rymkiewicz zaś - niewyrażalny byt.
