Cultural tourism as a form of city activation on the example of Jeddah and Riyadh in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

The purpose of this thesis is to show the importance of cultural tourism as a form of activation of the cities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia - Jeddah and Riyadh.In the introduction of the thesis, a comprehensive definition of cultural tourism is given. Then the above-mentioned cities have been described in terms of location, climate and historical and cultural values. In the second part of the thesis the agglomeration and urban characteristics of the cities are listed. Special attention was paid to the development and tourist infrastructure. Cultural heritage was cited on the examples such as museums, historical sites and monuments of these cities. Their hotel and catering facilities are also described. The importance and competitiveness of these cities in the global tourism arena is justified in the following part of the thesis. The most important part of the study is to describe and justify the effectiveness of forms of tourist activation of Jeddah and Riyadh.

Celem niniejszej pracy jest wskazanie znaczenia turystyki kulturowej jako formy aktywizacji miast Królestwa Arabii Saudyjskiej - Dżeddy i Rijadu.We wstępie pracy została przytoczona obszerna definicja turystyki kulturowej. Następnie opisane zostały wyżej wymienione miasta pod względem położenia, klimatu oraz walorów historyczno-kulturowych. W drugiej części pracy wypisane zostały cechy aglomeracyjne oraz urbanistyczne miast. Szczególną uwagę poświęcono na zagospodarowanie i infrastrukturę turystyczną. Przytoczone zostało dziedzictwo kulturowe na przykładzie muzeów, miejsc historycznych oraz zabytków tych miast. Opisano również ich zaplecze hotelarskie oraz gastronomiczne. Znaczenie oraz konkurencyjność turystyczna na arenie światowej tych miast została uzasadniona w dalszej części pracy. Najważniejsza częścią pracy jest opisanie oraz uzasadnienie skuteczności form turystycznej aktywizacji Dżeddy i Rijadu.
