Why Hungarian is so different? : Hungarian and loanwords

The paper presents the research which concentrates on the international words, comparing their position in both languages. The analysis involves the history of the foreign influences exerted on the languages because the diachronic approach to some extend explains, to some completes the opinion on the foreign influences which the native speakers have today. The research considers the statements in which it is directly said what Polish and Hungarian native speakers think about the borrowed vocabulary as well as the manifestations of their attitudes – such as Hungarian (modern) „language revival movement”, the Facebook pages concerning this topic, the memes highlighting the otherness of some European languages or the characteristics of the vocabularies which can be found in the educational materials created for the foreign languages teaching.

W artykule porównane zostaje miejsce internacjonalizmów w językach polskim i węgierskim. Poddana analizie zostaje historia wpływów obcych na te języki, w pewnym stopniu tłumacząca, w pewnym zaś uzupełniająca współczesną ocenę obu narodów na temat tychże wpływów. Brane pod uwagę zostają wypowiedzi bezpośrednio prezentujące podejście Polaków i Węgrów do szeroko rozumianych zapożyczeń, ale także przejawy tego podejścia w działaniach użytkowników natywnych obu jezyków, takie jak np. węgierski (współczesny) „ruch odnowy języka”, funkcjonowanie związanych z tą tematyką stron na portalach społecznościowych, tworzenie internetowych memów, uwypuklających „inność” pewnych języków Europy, czy szczególne cechy inwentarzy słownikowych materiałów glottodydaktycznych.
