Between demonization and apothesis - a critical scientific review about digital media

Przedmiotem artykułu jest analiza krytyczna mediów cyfrowych w dobie dynamicznego postępu technologicznego. Głównym problemem poruszanego tematu są niejednoznaczne osądy w dyskursie naukowym nad mediami cyfrowymi, oparte albo na hiperbolizacji, wynikającej z osobistego zaangażowania w ich użytkowanie, albo na bardzo stronniczej demonizacji narzędzi cyfrowych. Tekst będzie uważnym przeglądem literatury dotyczącej powtarzających się zarówno negatywnych, jak i pozytywnych opinii na temat nowych technologii przedstawionych przez wybranych liderów opinii, poddanych krytycznemu zestawieniu. Celem pracy jest znalezienie kompromisu w ocenach mediów cyfrowych oraz zaprojektowanie zasad dotyczących ich użytkowania dla użytkownika bez względu na poziom posiadanych kompetencji. W opracowaniu zostaną przedstawione: przemiany w strukturze mediów, postawy naukowców wobec nowej technologii, charakterystyka ery cyfrowej rozrywki oraz model tzw. "Świadomej reakcji użytkownika na nowe technologie".

The subject of the article is a critical analysis of digital media in the era of dynamic technological progress. The main problem of the discussed topic is the ambiguous judgments in the scientific discourse over digital media, based either on hyperbolization resulting from personal involvement in their use, or from the highly biased demonization of digital tools. The text will be a careful literature review of recurring negative as well as positive views on new technologies by selected opinion leaders and critically juxtaposed. The aim of the work is to find a compromise in the assessment of digital media and to design rules for their use regardless of the level of your competences. The study will present: changes in the structure of the media, attitudes of scientists towards new technology, the hallmark of the digital entertainment age and a model of the so-called "Conscious user reaction to new technologies".
