„För störst av allt är skräcken”. Analiza gatunkowa powieści Störst av allt Malin Persson Giolito

Celem niniejszej pracy licencjackiej jest zbadanie, w jakim stopniu powieść Malin Persson Giolito Störst av allt realizuje konwencje gatunkowe powieści kryminalnej. Zastosowana w pracy metoda badawcza ma swoją bazę w teorii gatunku literackiego i w narratologii.Praca została podzielona na dwie części – część teoretyczną i analityczną. W rozdziale teoretycznym opisuję rys historyczny powieści kryminalnej, uwzględniając zmiany, które nastąpiły z biegiem rozwoju tego gatunku oraz przedstawiam najważniejszych twórców. Przybliżam również elementy recepcji analizowanej powieści i przedstawiam pojęcie gatunku literackiego w rozumieniu Alastaira Fowlera. Następnie opisuję wyróżnione przez Shlomith Rimmon-Kenan trzy podstawowe kategorie narratologiczne. W części analitycznej badam podstawowe elementy historii – intrygę, postacie, czas i miejsce akcji w Störst av allt oraz ich relacje do konwencji gatunkowych powieści kryminalnej. Omawiane zagadnienia ilustruję cytatami z powieści. W końcowej części pracy znajduje się podsumowanie analizy.

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to determine how and to what extent Malin Persson Giolito’s novel Störst av allt fulfills genre conventions of the crime novel. The research method used in this work is based on the literary genre theory and on narratology.The thesis is divided into two parts – theoretical and analytical. In the theoretical chapter, I describe the historical outline of a crime novel, taking into account the changes that have occurred within the development of this genre, and present the most important authors. I also introduce the elements of the reception of the analyzed novel and present Alastair Fowler’s concept of literary genre. Thereafter, I describe three fundamental narratological categories distinguished by Shlomith Rimmon-Kenan. In the analytical part, I examine the basic elements of the story – the plot, characters, time and setting in Störst av allt and their relations to the genre conventions of the crime novel. I exemplify discussed issues with quotations from the novel. At the end of the thesis underlies a summary of the analysis.
