Japońska koncepcja sinocentryzmu a obraz kulturowy Ajnów w okresie Edo (1600-1868)

Praca ma na celu przedstawienie relacji japońsko-ajnuskich okresu Edo w świetle japońskiej koncepcji sinocentryzmu. Przybliżona zostanie idea sinocentryzmu oraz proces powielania jej przez Japończyków, a także jej wpływ na stosunki Japonii z innymi krajami Azji Wschodniej, m.in. Koreą oraz Królestwem Riukiu. Następnie opisana zostanie polityka siogunatu oraz prowincji Matsumae wobec Ajnów, a także wizerunek tego ludu w oczach Japończyków. W tym celu przeanalizowane będą działania, jakie podejmowała prowincja Matsumae w celu marginalizacji Ajnów oraz narracja ich odmienności, jaką kreowali Japończycy. Przedstawione zostaną również wybrane aspekty ekspansji Japończyków na Hokkaido.

This paper aims to present the Japan-Ainu relations of the Edo period in the light of the Japanese concept of Sinocentrism. The idea of Sinocentrism and the process of its reproduction by the Japanese will be presented, as well as its influence on Japan's relations with other East Asian countries, including Korea and the Ryukyu Kingdom. Next, the policy of the Shogunate and the Matsumae province towards the Ainu will be described, as well as the image of the Ainu in the eyes of the Japanese. To this end, the paper will analyze the actions taken by the Matsumae province to marginalize the Ainu and the narrative of their otherness created by the Japanese. Selected aspects of Japanese expansion into Hokkaido will also be presented.
