The financial risk of company in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic on the example of Rainbow Tours S.A.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the financial risk in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic in a selected tourism industry company. In the theoretical part, the literature on financial risk and company financial risk management was reviewed. The empirical part presents the results of the research, the main purpose of which was to identify and analyze the financial risk of Rainbow Tours S.A., with particular emphasis on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the situation and financial results of the audited entity. The entity selected for the research was Rainbow Tours S.A. The research process was carried out using the following methods and research tools: analysis of documentation, elements of vertical and horizontal and index financial analysis, financial risk analysis (currency, credit, financial liquidity, investment, interest rate). The main sources of empirical data were the consolidated financial statements of the Rainbow Tours S.A. Group, individual financial statements of Rainbow Tours and the Management Board's reports on the activities of Rainbow Tours and the Rainbow Tours Group for 2019-2020. Based on the results of the research, it was found that the COVID-19 pandemic had a negative impact on the financial risk and the situation of Rainbow Tours S.A. in the examined period 2019-2020.

Celem niniejszej pracy jest dokonanie analizy ryzyka finansowego w kontekście pandemii COVID-19 w wybranym przedsiębiorstwie z branży turystycznej. W części teoretycznej dokonano przeglądu literatury dotyczącej ryzyka finansowego oraz zarządzania ryzykiem finansowym przedsiębiorstwa. W części empirycznej natomiast przedstawiono wyniki badań, których głównym celem była identyfikacja i analiza ryzyka finansowego spółki Rainbow Tours S.A ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem wpływu pandemii COVID-19 na sytuację i wyniki finansowe badanego podmiotu. Podmiotem wybranym do badań została spółka Rainbow Tours S.A. Proces badawczy zrealizowano przy zastosowaniu następujących metod i narzędzi badawczych: analizy dokumentacji, elementów pionowej, poziomej oraz wskaźnikowej analizy finansowej, analizy ryzyka finansowego (walutowego, kredytowego, płynności finansowej, inwestycyjnego, stopy procentowej). Jako główne źródła danych empirycznych wykorzystano skonsolidowane sprawozdania finansowe GK Rainbow Tours S.A., jednostkowe sprawozdania finansowe Rainbow Tours oraz sprawozdania Zarządu z działalności Rainbow Tours i GK Rainbow Tours za lata 2019-2020. Na podstawie wyników przeprowadzonych badań stwierdzono, że pandemia COVID-19 wpłynęła negatywnie na ryzyko finansowe oraz sytuację spółki Rainbow Tours S.A. w badanym okresie 2019-2020.
