Celem pracy pod tytułem „Kryptowaluty jako forma inwestycji alternatywnych” jest dokonanie analizy kryptowalut, w celu określenia ich istoty oraz sprawdzenia, czy istnieją narzędzia pozwalające na racjonalną ocenę inwestycji podejmowanych na tym rynku. Praca składa się z trzech rozdziałów. Pierwszy i drugi są częścią teoretyczną, w której w oparciu o literaturę przedmiotu opisano zagadnienia związane z istotą kryptowalut. Przedstawiono historię i sposób działania technologii łączenia bloków oraz odniesiono termin kryptowalut do definicji rynku i instrumentu finansowego. Powiązano go z pojęciem inwestycji alternatywnych oraz opracowano zagadnienia związane ze strategiami inwestycyjnymi, udziałem procentowym aktywów w kapitale inwestycyjnym oraz przedstawiono sposoby pomnażania kapitału z wykorzystaniem kryptowalut. W części praktycznej przedstawiono czynniki wpływające na decyzje inwestycyjne dotyczące kryptowalut, czyli powody podejmowania takich inwestycji, rodzaje ryzyka mogącego wystąpić w ich trakcie oraz zbadano powiązania ruchów cenowych kryptowalut ze zmianami wartości innych aktywów. Poznanie miejsca kryptowalut we współczesnym sektorze finansowym może przyczynić się do lepszego rozumienia tego rynku. Z kolei wiedza na temat motywacji inwestycyjnych daje analitykom możliwość stosowania nowych narzędzi służących do predykcji ruchów cen kryptowalut.

The purpose of the work entitled "Cryptocurrencies as a form of alternative investments" is to analyze cryptocurrencies in order to determine their essence and check whether there are tools that allow for a rational assessment of investments made on this market. The work consists of three chapters. The first and the second are the theoretical part in which, based on the literature on the subject, issues related to the essence of cryptocurrencies are described. The history and operation of block connection technology was presented and the term cryptocurrencies was referred to the definition of the market and financial instrument. It was associated with the concept of alternative investments and issues related to investment strategies, the percentage of assets in investment capital were developed, and methods of multiplying capital with the use of cryptocurrencies were presented. The practical part presents the factors influencing investment decisions regarding cryptocurrencies, i.e. the reasons for making such investments, the types of risks that may occur during them, and examines the relationship of cryptocurrency price movements with changes in the value of other assets. Understanding the place of cryptocurrencies in the modern financial sector can contribute to a better understanding of this market. In turn, knowledge of investment motivations gives analysts the opportunity to use new tools to predict cryptocurrency price movements.
