The main aim of the work is to describe the phenomenon of Virtual YouTubers based on the theory of new media and pop culture science, with special emphasis on Japanese pop culture. The paper explains terms related to virtual and augmented reality as well the specification of Japanese pop culture. In addition, the author focuses on the changes taking place in the entertainment industry especialy in the field of streaming due to the strengthening of the position of VTubers in the Internet space. He also presents the possible directions of development of the thematic trend and its potential impact on known models of entertainment.

Głównym celem pracy jest opisanie zjawiska Virtual YouTubers w oparciu o teorię nowych mediów oraz naukę o popkulturze, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem popkultury japońskiej. Przybliżone zostają terminy związane z rzeczywistości wirtualną i rozszerzoną, jak również specyfikacja popkultury japońskiej. Ponadto autor skupia się na przemianach zachodzących w przemyśle rozrywkowym na polu streamingu za sprawą umocnienia się pozycji VTuberów w przestrzeni internetowej.
