Analysis of the payment of benefits from the sickness insurance fund in the era of the pandemic.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the payment of benefits and the functioning of the sickness insurance fund over the period 2015-2020, taking into account the prevailing pandemic in Poland in 2020. In the theoretical part, the specifics, classification, as well as the functioning of sickness insurance are shown. The empirical part presents an analysis of data on sickness insurance in 2015-2020. The subject of the study was the operation of sickness insurance and the benefits paid in connection with its operation. Statistics and reports issued by the Social Security Administration were used as the main sources of empirical data.

Celem niniejszej pracy jest analiza wypłaty świadczeń oraz funkcjonowania funduszu ubezpieczenia chorobowego na przestrzeni lat 2015-2020 z uwzględnieniem panującej w Polsce pandemii w roku 2020. W części teoretycznej ukazana została specyfika, klasyfikacja, a także działanie ubezpieczenia chorobowego. W części empirycznej przedstawiono analizę danych dotyczących ubezpieczenia chorobowego w latach 2015-2020. Podmiotem badań było funkcjonowanie ubezpieczenia chorobowego oraz wypłacane w związku z jego funkcjonowaniem zasiłki. Jako główne źródła danych empirycznych wykorzystano statystyki oraz raporty wydane przez Zakład Ubezpieczeń Społecznych.
