Goethes Faust I als translatorisches Problem. Eine linguistische Analyse der Äquivalenzbeziehungen zwischen dem Original und seinen polnischen Übersetzungen

The subject of this Master's thesis is the translation of one of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's most famous works, Faust I. At the beginning of the thesis, the most important information about Goethe's giant work and the difficulties a potential translator may encounter are outlined. The second chapter is devoted to the peculiarities of literary translation and the obstacles involved, such as the translation of metaphors, the rendering of form and content, and the influence of cultural determinants on the work. The last theoretical chapter deals with the nature of equivalence. The intended purpose is to provide a basic description of Werner Koller's concept of equivalence and Elżbieta Tabakowska's cognitively oriented theory of equivalence at the level of imagery. The fourth and final chapter of the thesis contains an empirical analysis. The subject of her research is denotative, connotative, text-normative, pragmatic, formal equivalence as well as equivalence on the level of imagery between Faust I and its three translations by Feliks Konopka, Emil Zegadłowicz and Krzysztof Lipiński.

Das zentrale Thema der vorliegenden Masterarbeit ist die Übertragung eines der berühmtesten Werke Johann Wolfgang von Goethes, Faust I. Zu Beginn der Arbeit werden die wichtigsten Informationen über Goethes Riesenwerk und die Schwierigkeiten, auf die ein potenzieller Übersetzer stoßen kann, deskribiert. Das zweite Kapitel wird den Besonderheiten der literarischen Übersetzung und den damit verbundenen Hindernissen gewidmet, wie der Übersetzung von Metaphern, der Wiedergabe von Form und Inhalt und dem Einfluss kultureller Determinanten auf das Werk. Im letzten theoretischen Kapitel wird auf das Wesen der Äquivalenz eingegangen. Der anvisierte Zweck besteht in der grundlegenden Beschreibung des Äquivalenzkonzeptes von Werner Koller und der von Elżbieta Tabakowska eingeführten, kognitiv orientierten Theorie der Äquivalenz auf der Ebene der Bildhaftigkeit. Das vierte und letzte Kapitel der Arbeit enthält eine empirische Analyse. Der Gegenstand ihrer Forschung ist die denotative, konnotative, textnormative, pragmatische, formal-ästhetische Äquivalenz sowie Äquivalenz auf der Ebene der Bildhaftigkeit zwischen Faust I und seinen drei Übersetzungen von Feliks Konopka, Emil Zegadłowicz und Krzysztof Lipiński.

Wiodącym tematem niniejszej pracy magisterskiej jest przekład jednego z najbardziej znanych utworów Johanna Wolfganga von Goethego, za jaki uchodzi Faust I. Praca rozpoczyna się od opisu najistotniejszych informacji o dziele Goethego oraz trudności, z jakimi może się spotkać jego potencjalny tłumacz. Drugi rozdział poświęcony jest specyfice tłumaczenia literackiego oraz związanymi z nim trudnościami, takimi jak: przekład metafor, oddanie formy i treści oraz wpływ determinantów kulturowych na dzieło. W ostatnim, a zarazem najbardziej istotnym rozdziale teoretycznym, omówiono istotę ekwiwalencji. Pogłębiona została ekwiwalencja w ujęciu koncepcji Kollera oraz ukierunkowana kognitywnie teoria Elżbiety Tabakowskiej. Czwarty, ostatni już rozdział pracy, zawiera analizę empiryczną. Przedmiotem jej badań jest ekwiwalencja denotatywna, konotatywna, tekstowo-normatywna, pragmatyczna, formalno-estetyczna oraz ekwiwalencja na poziomie obrazowania występująca pomiędzy Faustem I oraz jego trzema tłumaczeniami, wykonanymi przez Feliksa Konopkę, Emila Zegadłowicza oraz Krzysztofa Lipińskiego.
