Psychosocial aspects of the functioning of parents of children with disabilities

Upbringing is a key element in the adolescence of a young person, and at the same time constitutes a great challenge for parents and completely changes the way they function. In the case of parenting directed to a child with a disability, the transformations occurring within the caregivers' lives are even more significant. They not only have to deal with the new situation of having a child, but also with their health conditions and the impact it has on them. Considering the above, the aim of the work is to learn about selected aspects of psychosocial functioning of parents of children with a disability certificate. For this purpose, the literature on the subject was delved into, and the author's own research was based on a diagnostic survey, which was distributed among a diverse group of respondents.

Wychowywanie jest kluczowym elementem dorastania młodego człowieka, stanowiącym jednocześnie duże wyzwanie dla rodziców i zmieniające całkowicie sposób ich funkcjonowania. W przypadku rodzicielstwa skierowanego do dziecka z niepełnosprawnością, przeistoczenia zachodzące w obrębie życia opiekunów są jeszcze bardziej znaczące. Muszą oni nie tylko zmierzyć się z nową dla nich sytuacją, jaką jest posiadanie dziecka, ale także z jego chorobą i wpływem, jaki ma ona na nich samych. Biorąc pod uwagę powyższe, celem pracy jest poznanie wybranych aspektów funkcjonowania psychospołecznego rodziców dzieci z orzeczeniem o niepełnosprawności. Zagłębiono się w tym celu w literaturę przedmiotu, a badanie własne opracowano w oparciu o sondaż diagnostyczny, który został rozprowadzony wśród zróżnicowanej grupy badanych.
