This work analyzes two series of paintings created by Karol Pustelnik: one entitled "Family Myths" from the 1960s and an untitled series from the 1970s. It highlights memories of the artist from Wadowice, whose achievements remain still under-appreciated. The analysis further contextualizes the emergence of both series, especially in terms of the influence of traditional culture and the Polish reception to surrealism.
Celem pracy jest analiza dwóch cykli malarskich Karola Pustelnika: pochodzących z lat 60. XX w. „Mitów rodzinnych” oraz niezatytułowanego cyklu z lat 70. Autorka chce przywrócić pamięć o tym wadowickim artyście, którego dorobek artystyczny nie doczekał się jeszcze opracowania. Analiza ma celu ukazanie kontekstu powstania tych cykli szczególnie pod kątem wpływu kultury tradycyjnej i polskiej recepcji surrealizmu.
