Presidential election during COVID-19 pandemic on the Polish and American cases.

Jako przedmiot zainteresowania poniższej pracy naukowej wskazuje się proces wyborów prezydenckich, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem elekcji, które odbywały się w czasie epidemii COVID-19 w 2020 roku w dwóch państwach: Polsce oraz Stanach Zjednoczonych. Poszczególne rozdziały dotyczą rozważań teoretycznych oraz praktycznego zastosowania przepisów prawa w czasie procesu wyborczego. Celem jest podkreślenie znaczenia urzędu prezydenta w państwach demokratycznych oraz wskazanie na ewentualne zagrożenia dla trwania instytucji w czasach kryzysu. Ostatecznie praca naukowa stanowi studium przypadku polskiego i amerykańskiego, który posiada cechy wspólne oraz elementy różniące się od siebie.

The process of presidential election, with particular emphasis on the elections that were held during the COVID-19 epidemic in the year 2020 in two countries: Poland and United States of America, is indicated as the subject of interest of following thesis. Individual chapters refer to theoretical considerations and practical usage of legal provisions during electoral proceedings. The aim is to highlight the meaning of presidential office in democratic countries and to stress the potential threats to the duration of this institution in the times of crisis. Finally, this thesis shall be understood as a study of Polish and American cases, which in comparison both contain mutual and contrasting features.
