"The madness of nature and the nature of madness. About the prose works of Anna Bolavá"

Celem niniejszej pracy jest wskazania, zbadanie oraz nazwanie cech charakterystycznych twórczości prozatorskiej Anny Bolavej oraz próba zdefiniowania poetyki autorki. Kolejnym zamiarem jest wskazanie szerokich odniesień kulturowych (m.in. filozoficznych, etnologicznych, literackich) oraz interpretacji w ich świetle głównych motywów twórczości Bolavej, jakimi są szaleństwo, natura oraz magia. Autorka niniejszej pracy za cel postawiła sobie również wskazanie przynależności gatunkowej analizowanych powieści – przy szczególnym zwróceniu uwagi na tzw. literaturę niesamowitą oraz gatunek ballady ludowej – a także próbę umiejscowienia twórczości Bolavej we współczesnym czeskim dyskursie literackim.

The aim of this study is to identify, investigate and name the characteristics of the prose works of Anna Bolavá and to try to define her poetry. Furthermore, the purpose is to indicate broad cultural references (philosophical, ethnological, and literary, among others) and, using that, to interpret the main themes of Bolavá’s works, which are madness, nature and magic. The author of this study also wishes to indicate the genres of the analysed works, as well as to try to position the works of Bolavá in the current Czech literary discourse.
