Between legal and real recognition : the identity politics of lemko activists

В статі аналізувана єст політыка достоменности ведена през лемків-скых актывістів, якым трансформация політычной системы початку 90. років дозволила на неспутану експресию власной достоменности. Демократизация соспільного жытя творила слідуючы по собі етапыеманципациі Лемків, зачатой разом з процесами народового ріжни-цюваня східньой Славянщыны. Текст представлят головны вызваня, што стояли пред етнічныма діячами групы з квестіонуваным презріжных соспільных акторів статусом. Вказує процесы еманципациілемківской соспільности в діяхронній перспектыві, беручы до ува-гы зміны, якы принесла офіциялізация групы, враз з вписаньом єйдо Уставы з дня 6 січня 2005 р. о національных і етнічных меншынахі реґіональным языку.

The article analyzes the identity policy pursued by those Lemko activists for whom the political transformation of the early 1990s allowed to express of their identity unfetteredly. The democratization of social life conducted the next stage of Lemkos’ emancipation, which began along with the process of national differentiation of the Eastern Slavs. This paper presents the main challenges that ethnic activists from the group with a disputed by various social actors status have faced. It reveals the emancipation of the Lemko community with a diachronic approach, considering changes caused by the formalization of the group, with its inclusion in the Act of 6 January 2005 on national and ethnic minorities and on the regional languages.
