Czech football. An affective image of the football world in the reportage ’Dukla mezi mrakodrapy’ by Ota Pavel

Celem pracy jest analiza reportażu sportowego „Dukla mezi mrakodrapy” autorstwa Oty Pavla, który opisuje historię klubu Dukla Praga oraz ukazuje sylwetki piłkarzy i trenerów. Głównym problemem jest afektywność i emocje w sporcie, a także ich wpływ na piłkarzy i kibiców. Autor przedstawił drużynę i klub od strony prywatnej, której kibic do tej pory nie znał. Pomogła mu w tym znajomość świata sportu, którym interesował się od najmłodszych lat. W swoim reportażu przedstawił piłkę nożną jako grę pełną pasji i zaangażowania oraz zwrócił uwagę na emocje, za pomocą których połączył brutalny świat sportu z pięknem literatury.

The aim of the thesis is to analyse the sports reportage ‘Dukla mezi mrakodrapy’ by Ota Pavel, which describes the history of the Dukla Prague football club and shows the profiles of players and coaches. The main issue is affectivity and emotions in sport, as well as their impact on players and fans. The author presented the team and the club from its private side, which the fan had not known before. His knowledge of the world of sports, which he was interested in from an early age, helped him in this. In his reportage, he described football as a game full of passion and commitment. Pavel drew attention to the emotions and he combined the brutal world of sport with the beauty of literature.
