"Małaszka" by Gabriela Zapolska. The history of the book and editions.

Niniejsza praca licencjacka poświęcona jest analizie problematyki zawartej w XIX-wiecznej książce pod tytułem "Małaszka" autorstwa Gabrieli Zapolskiej jak i jej dziejom wydawniczym. Składa się z czterech rozdziałów, które koncentrują się na biografii autorki, streszczeniu książki, problematyce naturalistycznej, wojnie prasowej związanej z wydaniem tego dzieła, oraz przedstawiają listę wydań i opis poszczególnych edycji, co pozwala zidentyfikować ewentualne zmiany w kontekście redakcyjnym i kulturowym. Całość pracy ma na celu lepsze zrozumienie książki oraz kontekstu, w jakim powstała, a także wpływu społeczeństwa na jej odbiór.

The following bachelor's thesis is dedicated to the analysis of the issues presented in a 19th-century book titled "Małaszka" by Gabriela Zapolska. It consists of four chapters that focus on the author's biography, a summary of the book, naturalistic themes, the press war surrounding its publication, as well as showing list of editions and describing each edition, allowing for the identification of potential changes in editorial and cultural contexts. The overall aim of this thesis is to enhance the understanding of the book and the context in which it was created, as well as the influence of society on its reception.
