Analiza strategii sukcesu i wyzwań napotykanych przez kobiety w polityce na przykładzie amerykańskim

Within my thesis I will be looking upon the appearance of women within the public sphere, more precisely their inclusion within the world of politics. It is worth noting that the political stage is predominantly male dominated. The main aspiration of this piece of work is to properly analyze the success strategies of female politicians in the USA as well as the challenges which they have faced on their path to a fruitful career. The research conducted for the purposes of this dissertation heavily relies upon the method of analyzing personal documents of four women. The political figures chosen in an endeavor to prove this phenomenon have become synonymous with strong female leaders. They are as follows: Kamala Harris, Dana Perino, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and Hillary Clinton. This piece of work includes a historical account of American feminism birth, which sheds a light upon both the public and private spheres, the importance of socialization, paternalism, as well as gender discrimination and its consequences.

Tematem niniejszej pracy jest wkraczanie kobiet do sfery publicznej, a konkretnie do świata polityki, który nadal pozostaje miejscem zdominowanym w znacznym stopniu przez mężczyzn. Celem moich rozważań jest analiza strategii sukcesu amerykańskich polityczek oraz wyzwań jakie napotkały na swojej drodze. W swojej pracy wykorzystuję metodę analizy dokumentów osobistych, którymi w tym przypadku będą biografie czterech kobiet, które zapisały się na kartach historii Stanów Zjednoczonych: Kamali Harris, Dany Perino, Ruth Bader Ginsburg oraz Hillary Clinton. Praca zawiera wątek historii narodzin amerykańskiego feminizmu, który z kolei otwiera rozważania na temat sfery publicznej i prywatnej, znaczenia procesu socjalizacji jednostki, zjawiska, jakim jest paternalizm, jak i dyskryminacji ze względu na płeć oraz jej konsekwencji.
