Linguistic analysis of poetry: study of the story-tale "Peau de louve" by Veronika Mabardi

Praca ma na celu omówienie narzędzi językoznawczych, z jakich można korzystać przy analizie tekstów literackich. Przedstawione w niej zostały nie tylko elementy stylistyki tekstu, ale również jego wymiar ikoniczny, aby zbadać w jakim stopniu wpływa on na wydźwięk i odbiór dzieła. Część teoretyczna zakłada zaprezentowanie podstawowych elementów lingwistycznej analizy poetyckiej oraz podsumowanie teorii ikoniczności tekstu literackiego. W części praktycznej zbadano, stosując ramy teoretyczne pierwszej części, bajkę wierszowaną belgijskiej pisarki Veroniki Mabardi, Peau de louve. Ukazano wydźwięk użytych wyrażeń, a także słownictwa oraz wpływ ogólnej konstrukcji dzieła na poszczególne elementy, które tworzą rzeczywistość książki. Tę część rozprawy uzupełnia wywiad przeprowadzony z Autorką analizowanego tekstu.

Ce mémoire vise à examiner des outils linguistiques qui peuvent être utilisés pour analyser les textes littéraires. Il présente non seulement les éléments stylistiques du texte, mais aussi sa dimension iconique, afin d’examiner dans quelle mesure elle influence le sens et la réception de l’œuvre. La partie théorique consiste à présenter les éléments de base de l’analyse poétique linguistique et à résumer la théorie de l’iconicité d’un texte littéraire. La partie pratique examine, en appliquant le cadre théorique de la première partie, un récit-conte rimé de l’écrivaine belge Veronika Mabardi, Peau de louve. Elle souligne les nuances des expressions utilisées, ainsi que le vocabulaire, et l’influence de la construction globale de l’œuvre sur les différents éléments qui composent la réalité du livre. Cette partie du mémoire est complétée par une interview réalisée avec l’auteure du texte analysé.

This paper aims to discuss the linguistic tools that can be used to analyse literary texts. It presents not only the stylistic elements of the text, but also its iconic dimension, to examine how it influences the overtones and reception of the work. The theoretical part includes presenting the basic elements of linguistic poetic analysis and summarising the iconicity theory of a literary text. The practical part examines applying the theoretical framework of the first part, a rhyming story-tale by the Belgian writer Veronika Mabardi, Peau de louve. Also shown are the overtones of expressions and vocabulary as well as influence used to create construction of the work on the different elements that make up the reality of the book. This part of the
